2022 FFA Banquet

The 2022 FFA banquet took place on May 9, 2022 in the Berthoud High School commons. The 2021-2022 officers led the banquet. Our 2021-2022 executive committee members Sarah Bullet and Anna Schlagel, sentinel Garrett Hershman, reporter Nicolette Marty, treasurer Garrett Purman, secretary Cassidi Alverson, vice president Allison Hocker, and president Hallie Cook. Many people were awarded and all the senior officers gave a resigning address. We awarded an honorary membership to Julie Nauss. We also awarded Star Green Hand to Colton Cutter. He earned this award by demonstrating leadership skills and has been dedicated to our FFA chapter. Emma Miller also won our Star Chapter Farmer award for being persistent in club activities and developing an excellent SAE (supervised agricultural experience). We also had 5 seniors earn their State Degree. This is the highest degree that you can receive at the state level. You have to have either logged 750 hours or earned 2,500 dollars. The people who received this degree were Sydney Hocker, Allison Hocker, Cassidi Alverson, Garrett Purman, and Hallie Cook. We also had many people earn their letters and bars. The ones who earned their letters were Garrett Purman , Mary Beth Morgan, Anndee Davidson, and Anna Schlagel. Also Cassidi Alverson, Allison Hocker, Sydney Hocker, Garrett Purman, and Hallie Cook all earned their first, second or third bar. We also awarded Hallie Cook with the Ashley Doolittle Memorial Scholarship. The 2021 – 2022 officers were recognized one last time and Allison Hocker won the outstanding officer award. We then had all our seniors retire their jackets and earn their cords. The following seniors earned their FFA cord: Cassidi Alverson, Ashton Scaggs, Allison Hocker, Mary Beth Morgan, Anndee Davidson, Sydney Hocker, Garrett Purman, Henry Bridgeman, Hallie Cook, and Anna Schlagel. Then we all finally found out who the new officers were. Our new executive committee members are Garrett Hershman and Katie Ross, our new sentinel is Keiani Burrows, our new reporter is Madison Kocjancic, our new treasurer is Alex Tveten, our new secretary is Cate Schlagel, our new vice president is Nicolette Marty, and finally our new president is Madison Kenner. After all of the new officers were recognized, our new secretary and president led closing ceremonies. Overall it was a very tearful and exciting night. Good luck to all our seniors as they go off into the world and congratulations to everyone who received an award at the banquet.
