FBLA students bring home top honors at districts

Twelve Berthoud High School students participated in FBLA Districts on Wednesday, Feb. 1.  The event was held on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.  Members of the BHS FBLA that competed at districts included Cayman Freeman, Bryan Gomez Garcia, Caleb Horner, Jack Houchin, Bryan Lawless, John Rottinghaus, Madden Shephard, Nolan Simon, Benjamin Sundheim, Evan Torres, Danny Vaca and Maebe-Rose Vanderbeek.

Sundheim took top honors in Computer Problem Solving and Introduction to Information Technology, while Freeman took first in Cyber Security.  Many BHS students earned second place honors, including Freeman in Accounting 1, joined by Horner in Computer Applications, and the team of Lawless & Houchin in Computer Game and Simulation Programming.  The team of Gomez Garcia, Rottinghaus and Simon took third in Digital Video Production, while Vanderbeek took fifth in Graphic Design.

Overall, it was a very successful showing for the BHS FBLA participants, according to FBLA advisor Keith Lobdell.  Congrats Spartans!
