The Maroon Tribune welcomes submissions from students and members of the school community. Submission does not guarantee publication. All submissions are reviewed by the editorial staff and may be accepted, declined, returned for revision, or held for later consideration.
Original work and accuracy
Submissions must be the submitter’s own work. They must not contain plagiarism, fabricated quotations, knowingly false information, or material the submitter does not have permission to use. Submitters are responsible for the accuracy of names, quotations, factual claims, and other information they provide.
Photographs, artwork, documents, and other supporting material must either belong to the submitter, be used with permission, or otherwise be appropriate for publication. The editorial staff may ask for sources, documentation, or additional information before publication.
Editorial review
The editorial staff may edit submissions for grammar, spelling, style, clarity, length, formatting, headlines, and consistency with Tribune standards. When practical, editors will consult the submitter before making substantial changes that alter meaning, argument, or attribution.
The Tribune may decline material that does not meet its editorial, ethical, accuracy, relevance, or publication standards. Decisions about whether, when, and where to publish a submission remain with the editorial staff.
Publication rights
The submitter keeps ownership of their work. By submitting material, the submitter gives The Maroon Tribune non-exclusive permission to publish, archive, reproduce, format, excerpt, and promote that material through Tribune channels, including the website, a possible print edition, and Tribune social-media accounts. Because this permission is non-exclusive, the submitter may also use or publish their work elsewhere unless a separate arrangement is made.
Identity and contact information
Contact information submitted through the form is used for editorial communication and is not intended for public display. Accepted work may be published with the submitter’s name. Requests for a different byline arrangement should be discussed with the editorial staff before publication.
After publication
Published material remains subject to The Maroon Tribune’s Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy. Factual concerns, correction requests, or other questions about published material should be directed to the editorial staff through the appropriate Tribune contact or appeal process.
